About Andy Mick

Richmond and the Berkshires are my full-time home! My wife and I moved to the Berkshires in 1999 to pursue professional careers in newspapers and government. First living for thirteen years in a wonderful southeast neighborhood in Pittsfield and ultimately moving to a mini-farm in Richmond. Now we can enjoy some of the more rural comforts of the Berkshires, while still being close to the services and cultural venues we enjoy. For those either living or wanting a home in Richmond, West Stockbridge, Stockbridge, Lenox or Pittsfield, I have made the move myself and can help you with your home buying or selling adventure, as only a good neighbor can! Andy is the product of a United States Air Force officer’s family. Born in Sherman, Texas, he spent his childhood in Texas, Ohio, Delaware, and Florida. Andy entered the newspaper industry in 1970, and spent the next 43 years as an executive for the New York Times Regional Newspaper Group, MediaNews Group and ultimately was the president of New England Newspapers, Inc. and publisher of The Berkshire Eagle. Over his years in the Berkshires, Andy has served as a director of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Inc., chairman of the American Heart Associate Heart Walk, member of The Berkshires Business Roundtable and chairman of The Berkshire Compact for Higher Education. Currently, he is vice chairman of the board of the MCLA Foundation and serves on the board of directors of The Berkshire Theatre Group. Throughout Andy’s professional career, he has subscribed to high ethical and customer service standards and having retired from his media career, is now putting his experience and wisdom to work as a licensed real estate agent with Jan Perry Realty and Associates, LLC. Andy is a 2009 graduate of The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, North Adams MA, with a BA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. When not involved with the business or community service he enjoys Berkshire cultural events, wine and fine dining, gardening, photography, antiquing and Captain, his Portuguese Water Dog.
